SSSavi is a modular combinatorial epigenome editing platform that enables precise control of effector composition and spatial ordering. This system is an interchangeable and reconfigurable docking platform fused to dCas9, allowing simultaneous recruitment of up to four different effectors. By demonstrating the activity and specificity of the SSSavi system, researchers have shown its comparable efficacy to existing multi-effector targeting systems.
Spatial ordering of recruited effectors
The spatial ordering of recruited effectors is essential for effective transcriptional regulation. Epigenome editing has the potential to investigate and understand the causal effects of epigenome modifications on transcription, as well as to correct improper epigenetic states.
