SpaceX is set to launch Maxar’s first two WorldView Legion satellites on a Falcon 9 flight from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The launch, initially scheduled for April, has been rescheduled for May 1, 2024, at 11:30 AM – 12:24 PM. This mission marks a significant milestone for Maxar, as it will triple the company’s capacity to collect 30 cm-class and multispectral imagery.
WorldView Legion Constellation
WorldView Legion is a constellation of Earth observation satellites built and operated by Maxar. The first two satellites, which have arrived at Vandenberg Space Force Base, are the first of six planned for the constellation. Once all six satellites are launched, they will image the most rapidly changing areas on Earth as frequently as every 20 to 30 minutes, from sunup to sundown.
