In a significant milestone for commercial space travel, SpaceX’s Crew Dragon Endeavour was relocated to a different port at the International Space Station (ISS) on Thursday, May 2, to make way for Boeing’s Starliner capsule, which is set to arrive at the ISS on May 8.
The relocation of the SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavour was a carefully orchestrated maneuver. The astronaut team undocked from the ISS’s Harmony module’s forward-facing port at 7:45 am and autonomously docked with the module’s space-facing port at 8:28 am. This relocation enabled the forward-facing port of the Harmony module to be utilized for the docking of Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft during its inaugural crewed flight in May.
